Making Landscape 1778 - 2016

 

 

The museum’s art collection is represented in a new exhibition, on the lower ground floor.

Entitled Making Landscape, the exhibition features a selection from 1778 – 2016, including stunning 18th century watercolours to contemporary photographs.

Animals and Us exhibition

A new interactive, family exhibition is now open at Bolton Museum – with a tiny mouse as star of the show.

Leopold, the inquisitive mouse, has been designed by Chorlton illustrator Anna Violet and is the mascot for Animals and Us.

He will guide visitors through the exhibition, showing them how all animals – from insects to elephants – are an important part of our everyday lives.

The Smithills Hall Story exhibition

This fantastic new exhibition will tell the story of Smithills Hall through the ages and the people who lived and worked there. Smithills Hall has been the centre of local life for over 700 years. The new exhibition spaces have been put together with the help of The Friends of Smithills Hall. The exhibition will introduce you to some of the powerful families who owned the house and estate over the centuries, but also the lives of the servants who worked behind the scenes. Beginners computer class
