Get crafty and make new friends every Tuesday afternoon at Westhoughton Library at our weekly craft group. All abilities and crafts welcome. Light refreshments served. £1 costs to cover materials and refreshments no need to book.

Have you got a hidden talent for writing that needs to be set free? Why not join Harwood Writers and find out! The group writes in a range of genres and styles -  from poetry to prose -  and welcome all new members whatever your writing talent or experience. Sessions are friendly and informal, and there is no obligation to read out your work.

Sessions take place on every Tuesday afternoon from 1.15pm - 3pm. No need to book.

The museum’s art collection is represented in a new exhibition, on the lower ground floor.

Entitled Making Landscape, the exhibition features a selection from 1778 – 2016, including stunning 18th century watercolours to contemporary photographs.

Craft A Story - Breightmet area

During this session, children practise their reading and make a craft around the story they read.

These sessions are used to help children improve on their literacy, it encourages creativity through crafts and allows children to learn simple BSL. We encourage children to read and want to provide them with a larger range of reading materials. With the reading reward children are given a book to take home and keep every two weeks. Animals and Us exhibition

A new interactive, family exhibition is now open at Bolton Museum – with a tiny mouse as star of the show.

Leopold, the inquisitive mouse, has been designed by Chorlton illustrator Anna Violet and is the mascot for Animals and Us.

He will guide visitors through the exhibition, showing them how all animals – from insects to elephants – are an important part of our everyday lives.

Toddler Tales

Horwich Library Toddler Tales sessions are now every Tuesday at 10.30am.

Following the Toddler Tales storytelling session join us for Stay and Play where children and their parents can play and have fun together. Both these free sessions are for children under 5 and their mums, dads and carers. No need to book just come along.
