Danny Jones was born in Bolton’s Royal Infirmary in 1986 and later attended Thornleigh High School. Originally from Bromley Cross, he started his career in the band Y2K, but it is his success in band McFly for which he is most famous. Despite experiencing massive success with the band, including 3 number one albums and movie success, Danny is still proud of his Bolton roots, ensuring that even the youngest of fans know what Bolton is all about.

Born in Bolton in 1986, he has since attended Brownlow Fold Primary School, Smithills High School and Bolton Community College. In his early boxing days, his father took him to Halliwell Boxing Club, his rise to fame commencing when he solely represented Britain in boxing in the 2004 Athens Olympics, winning a silver medal at the age of 17. Amir’s professional boxing career started right here in Bolton and who knows, he could go on to be a world champion one day! Amir’s Bolton roots have ensured that the star has kept a level head about his fame and instead he uses his success to be a great ambassador for Bolton.

Growing up in Halliwell, before moving to Astley Bridge and finally Atherton, Mark attended Canon Slade School where he was deputy head boy. His acting career started out at Bolton’s Little Theatre. Since then, Mark moved across the border to become a well-loved soap star for his role of Marlon Dingle. And Mark has Bolton in his blood, his father having been a Mayors' Attendant in Bolton.
